We all share a heart for God’s people. We desire to care for orphans, as described in James 1:27. “Religion that is pure and undefiled before God the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world.”

Jesse Zimmerman
Chairman, Attends New City Church in Dover, DE
In 2018, I went to Haiti for the first time. There, I met Pastor R, his wife A, and the kids. I felt a strong desire to help them. I started by bringing their needs to my church at that time. The church informally partnered with Pastor Romain and Agnes for a few years, eventually becoming what it is today. My goal for the organization is for the kids to flourish as citizens of Haiti and Heaven. I want them to be a generation that impacts Haiti for good.

Mike Osborne
Vice Chairman, Pastor at New City Church in Dover, DE
I was deeply influenced by James 1:27 which calls true religion in caring for orphans and widows. I knew that I needed to be doing something. I met Jesse Zimmerman at our church. He shared his burden to care for the orphans in Haiti. Our partnership took off from there. My vision is to see the children flourish as citizens of Haiti and Heaven.

Charlie Walker
Treasurer, Attends New Life Church in Smyrna, DE
Years ago before Uplift Haiti, Inc. was even a thought, Jesse introduced our congregation to Pastor Romain and their orphanage. That particular Sunday, there was an urgent need for funds for rent, and I felt moved to help. Little did I know that was just the beginning. I hope that our prayers and financial support will result in children who grow up to love the Lord. I also hope they realize their heavenly Father cares for and loves them deeply.

Brian Lee
Secretary, Attends Living Faith Baptist Church in Charlotte, NC
I became involved in caring for orphans because God calls me. He calls me to care for orphans and widows in their affliction (James 1:27). I am also convinced that every human being has inherent worth. As this worth is diminishing in our culture, my wife and I have felt we should take an active role. We decided to care for orphans. We spent several years fostering and going through the process of adopting a child. When an opportunity arose to serve orphans in Haiti, it was a natural fit for me. I desire, by faith in God, to provide for their needs in the short term. I also want to prepare them to live dedicated lives for Christ in their work and families.

Joel Jean-Simon
Board Member, Works at Redemption City Church in Baltimore, MD
Pastor Romain visited the church that I was attending. We had an instant connection because we could speak to one another in Haitian Creole. He then shared his vision and heart for the children at the orphanage in Haiti. Learning more about Pastor’s and A’s hearts for the children reminds me that we were once orphans. As Christians, we were brought into God’s family because of the work of Jesus Christ. My vision for our partnership is that we would be a steady partner. We strive to help financially while providing tangible training to the children at OMFCA. This will help them flourish as citizens of Haiti and come to love Jesus more.

Kira Jean-Simon
Communications Director, Attends Redemption City Church in Baltimore, MD
The Lord drew my heart toward Haiti in 2011. Years later, when the opportunity to serve on the team as the Communications Director at Uplift Haiti, Inc. presented itself, it was a no-brainer. I love Haiti deeply. I also desire to see the country renewed by the power of the Holy Spirit. My vision for the organization is that our sponsorship will grow. This will happen as people become aware of Haiti’s current situation. Pastor R and A are intentionally fighting for the kids. They serve them, love them, and provide a safe and loving home to grow. Ultimately, I pray that the kids love the Lord, follow Jesus, and use their skills and talents to serve Haiti.
