Women’s history month is a great time for us to celebrate the woman that does it all at OMFCA: Agnes
Agnes is running the orphanage alongside her husband, which includes managing the home and keeping it running. She does all of the budgeting, shopping, and managing the helpers at OMFCA. Pastor R always says that he wouldn’t be able to care for the kids and run the orphanage if it wasn’t for Agnes!
What a blessing Agnes is to care for the children alongside her own children at OMFCA. We are praising the Lord for Agnes’ heart for children, and willingness to put worldly desires aside to show the love of Christ to the children in need in Haiti. Pastor R and Agnes are native Haitians that felt called to care for children in Haiti that were left without parents or family to care for them.
We also want to showcase outstanding Haitian women that are either currently living in Haiti and serving their community, or that have ties to the country and have wonderful stories to share. We often talk about the tragedies that are happening in Haiti, but we also want to take time to celebrate the positive features of this beautiful country and the brilliant, and inspiring people working diligently to serve their communities.
Here’s an article that celebrates several Haitian women: some that currently live in Haiti and others that have ties to the country. This month we celebrate these women that have overcome impossible hurdles in a beautiful country that has faced injustice for decades.
