who/what/why/HOW (part 3)

Your Questions Answered
What are the long-term goals of Uplift’s partnership with OMFCA?

OMFCA’s long-term goal for the children in the home are:

  1. The ultimate goal is that the children grow-up and surrender their lives to King Jesus  & choose to live an intentional life to glorify Him.
  2. That OMFCA can provide the children the opportunity to continue their education at Universite or support them in learning a trade for work or to start their own business!

The purpose of these goals is to provide the children with a foundation that allows them to be Christian independent citizens of Haiti & Heaven.

Being uneducated or without a skill for trade-work leads to poverty and lack of options for Haitians, so Pastor Romain desires to give the children the skills they need to be successful in Haiti.

What are the short-term goals of this partnership?

Our short-term goal is to assist OMFCA in caring for the children by providing financially for monthly necessities (food, water, utilities, housing, etc.) and education costs for the children (tuition, uniforms, book, supplies, etc.).

We are committed to creating a base of supporters to provide resources to OMFCA that will help them care for the children, because without meeting the basic needs during this difficult time in Haiti (increased civil unrest, and now the earthquake), we can’t expect the children (or Pastor Romaine and his wife) to flourish!

Consider what is said in James 2:15-16

“Suppose a brother or sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you says to him, ‘Go, I wish you well; keep warm and well fed,’ but does nothing about his physical needs, what good is it?”

Let’s not ignore the call to help our brothers & sisters that are in need: let’s commit today to pray for them, and to provide financial support where needed.

Become a Monthly Donor or make a one time donation toward the children’s school!

How will this partnership help OMFCA meet their goals for the children?

Currently, in Haiti there is no option for additional assistance. Unlike in the United States, where an orphanage or non-profit can apply for grants or look for local assistance to meet financial needs, those options are rarely available in Haiti. This is where outside support is necessary. Again, our long-term goal is to help OMFCA become financially sustainable, but right now we are committed to helping financially.

God allowed Jesse and his family to meet and create a relationship with Pastor Romain and his family and over many years of work that has brought us to where we are today: Uplift Haiti, Inc. was created to support Pastor R and his wife in the ministry they are running.

Uplift Haiti, Inc.’s individual donors and church partnerships are what will OMFCA and be able to continue to care for the children properly, and raise up the next generation of Christians in Haiti!

If you have specific questions about our partnership, please contact us! We are happy to answer your questions to the best of our ability.

What can people do to help OMFCA?

The most powerful thing you can do is pray! Pray for Pastor Romaine and his wife as they are raising the children to be God-fearing young men and women. Pray for the children, that they would have peace in a disturbing time in Haiti, where fear is prevalent and their future may feel unknown. Pray that they will trust God with all they have, and surrender their lives to God. Pray for the upcoming school year, that the Lord would provide the funds for them to go to school and that they will enjoy school and be able to attend safely.

Second, you can donate! Donations of any kind or level are welcome (every bit counts)!

We are specifically looking for monthly donors, church partnerships, and large special gifts.

Monthly donations will go toward monthly necessities such as food, water, utilities, etc.

Church partnerships have donated large special gifts seasonally, or can decide to sponsor a specific need such as rent for the year, tuition for the school year, etc.

Large Special Gifts vary but, in the past they have been for items such as a new generator, Christmas dinner, etc.

Pray & Donate Today!
