Organization Aims and Fundraising:
The orphanage in Haiti that we are supporting is aiming to enable those children to become flourishing, Christian, productive citizens of Haiti. Of course, this means at the basic level helping them with necessities of life: food, shelter, and a family environment. Beyond that we are seeking to connect them with a Christian church that will support and aid their spiritual lives. Once those basic needs are provided for it is our aim to help educate and train them in a skill that will enable them to live as interdependent, contributing members of Haiti’s society.
We intend to raise funds for this orphanage through donors in the United States. The donor base will primarily be through the churches and businesses connected to the initial board, but will expand as the organization grows and based on the needs of the orphanage. Our hope, in time, is that part of the orphanage expense will be supplied through the efforts of those in Haiti as they acquire skills and resources.
Mission Statement:
We seek to demonstrate and declare the good news of Jesus’s Kingdom by caring for the orphans in their affliction so that they might become good citizens of heaven and Haiti.
